Jaipur, the Pink City, is one of India’s most loved places for a pre-wedding shoot. Royal forts, lake palaces and colourful old bazaars give every couple a backdrop that feels straight out of a film.
Best locations
- Amer Fort – grand courtyards and golden sunrise light.
- Jal Mahal – a calm lake palace, perfect at sunset.
- Nahargarh Fort – sweeping views over the whole city.
- Patrika Gate – bright, colourful arches for vibrant frames.
- Hawa Mahal – iconic pink facade for classic Jaipur shots.
When to shoot
October to March has the most pleasant weather. Plan for early mornings or the golden hour before sunset for soft, flattering light and fewer crowds.
Outfits and props
Pair one traditional look (lehenga, bandhgala or safa) with one casual or western outfit. Flowing dupattas, umbrellas and flowers photograph beautifully against Rajasthani architecture.
Permissions and planning
Some monuments need shoot permissions or have fixed timings, so book early and keep a backup location ready.
